Often overlooked as an American camera due to its Agfa name, the Agfa Memo was made in Binghampton, New York in the late 1930s. It used a special cassette derived from the design used in the Ansco Memo of the twenties. The Agfa Memo was made in both half- and full-frame versions, and the new cartridge further evolved to become the Agfa Rapid system of the 1960s.
